Since 2010
I have been secreting artworks.

Hundreds—
maybe 800—
forms pressed out of time,
out of confusion,
out of the body trying to understand itself.

Many are destroyed or cannibalized.

I have taken sixteen years
of staying with something
that does not explain itself.

And still—

I have not made anything.

I am grieving the right to not yet know

I am making for contact.
For the moment
when something touches you
before you can name it.

And I want that back
for everyone.

Step away!

Let your hands move
without already knowing the result.

Let something form
that does not want to be shared yet.

Let it stay strange.
Let it stay yours
long enough to change you.

The birds are starting to sing, and I can hear my love chopping apples.

With love,
